Voting at the Steeplejack & Lightning Protection Training Group

Written by Colin Sanders Friday, 16 December 2011

Unanimous Vote (Well Nearly) at the recent SLPTG (Steeplejack & Lightning Protection Training Group) meeting on the 15th December 2011, it was agreed with a vote of 9 to 1 to submit for approval the Diploma for a NVQ III – Lightning Conductor Test Engineer qualification.

This will provide all potential clients and customers whom require their lightning protection systems tested & inspected and lightning conductors testing, to check on an operative or company and for that operative/company to have a simple and very effective way to demonstrate their competence to carry out the task and protect all parties whom have to provide a ‘Duty of Care’.

This will over a period of time hopefully illuminate the current problem throughout the UK of unqualified persons carrying lightning conductor testing & inspection - WELL DONE TO THE SLPTG!
